Will Ospreay Stakes Claim To Make British Television History AEW

Will Ospreay has been the talk of the wrestling world recently, with his contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling set to expire in February.

Ospreay has had a lot of big moments this year, including his two dream matches with Kenny Omega, and wrestling Chris Jericho at Wembley Stadium.

However, it’s one very specific British television accolade that Ospreay has his sights on.

Taking to Twitter today, the IWGP United Kingdom Champion staked his claim to be the first wrestler to appear on the BBC reality series Strictly Come Dancing.

He said:

I will be the first wrestler on strictly come dancing. @BBCOne

Various WWE stars, including the Miz and Nikki Bella, have appeared on Dancing With The Stars, Strictly’s American counterpart.

Ospreay’s contract situation heading into 2024 has been one of the top stories in wrestling, with him reportedly open to multiple different options.

WWE was said to be ‘absolutely in play’ as a potential destination when his contract expires.

Ospreay will face both Jon Moxley and David Finlay in a three-way for a ‘new championship’ at Wrestle Kingdom 18 on January 4.
