205 Live is moving to a new day and time slot

WWE’s home of flips and giggles is being moved to another night. That’s right, the name 205 Live is now a lie. WWE are lying to all of you, and there’s nothing you can do about it.

As of this coming week, the home of the cruiserweights is scheduled to air at 7pm ET (midnight BST), just before episodes of NXT and the Mae Young Classic.

Instead of it’s usual appearance following SmackDown Live, the WWE Network will be airing an episode of WWE 24.

WWE is yet to make an official statement regarding the change, and there has been no word in regards to whether the show will still be taped on Tuesdays following SmackDown Live.

There is a possibility that this is a temporary move, and simply a way of making room for the upcoming second series of Mixed Match Challenge, which will air on Facebook Live.

In February of this year, Vince McMahon mercifully relinquished control of 205 Live, handing it over to his son-in-law Triple H. Trips has since brought back several aspects of the Cruiserweight Classic, as well as character traits for many of the superstars.

In March, Triple H spoke with CBS Sports’ In This Corner podcast about 205 Live being a “work in progress.”

“The great thing about [WWE] is we can change them on a dime,” Triple H said. “We can put it in a different direction, and if people don’t like something, just keep watching [because] we are probably going to get you there. We are probably going to get you to a place that works for everyone. That is the intent.

“I think 205 continues to be a work in progress. I’m excited about that opportunity for all of the athletes there because, for a lot of them, there was no road in front of them. There was no big path, and it was doing what they were doing but this opened up doors for them. Hopefully it will continue to grow, much like NXT has, much like the [United Kingdom efforts] will and all of that. I think there is tremendous opportunity and in some way we are just kind of nicking the surface of where we will be.”

So, I hope you’re all looking forward to 205…not Live?
