An update has emerged on the Forty Years of WrestleMania mode set to be featured in the WWE 2K24 videogame.
When the game hits shelves next month, fans will be able to relive some of their favourite WrestleMania moments in this game’s Showcase mode.
With WWE 2K14 previously featuring a Thirty Years of WrestleMania mode, many fans are wondering how different the new mode will be, ten years later.
It has now been revealed that the Forty Years of WrestleMania mode will feature 21 matches to play through.
WWE 2K gameplay producer Bryan Williams confirmed this when speaking with WCCFTech.
Noting that this game’s mode will feature a lot more female representation, Williams noted:
There are 21 matches from the 80s, the 90s, the 2000s, 2010s, up to the 2020s… the current day. So we have a wide selection, every era is represented. I will say one of the cool things about this year for Showcase of the Immortals is that there’s a lot more female representation than there was ten years ago when 2K14 hit the shelves.
So very excited and happy about that. In the demo we’re showing at this event today, one of the matches there is Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair from WrestleMania 39. So that is one of the matches that players will be able to experience in this year’s Showcase.
The new game will be released on Playstation 4 & 5, Xbox One, Series X & S and Microsoft Windows on March 8.
For gamers who pre-order the Deluxe or Forty Years of WrestleMania editions, they’ll get early access from March 5 in addition to the extras in those versions.
A major star has reacted to being left off the Forty Years of WrestleMania special edition cover, which you can read more about right here.
