WWE has agreed on a new streaming deal that starts in October 2023 bringing Raw and SmackDown to Japan for free.
WWE has come to an agreement with ABEMA that will see Raw and SmackDown stream on the platform from October 3.
The free ad-supported platform will air WWE Raw every Tuesday with SmackDown also being on a one-day delay on Saturday with WWE Premium Live Events being broadcast live.
There will be Japanese play-by-play for the WWE programming.
On September 29, ABEMA will air a special broadcast about WWE streaming that will be hosted by Keiji Muto (Great Muta) who is the “Ambassador of ABEMA wrestling.”
Akira Tozawa has reacted to the news of the deal between WWE and ABEMA, tweeting:
“If you want to watch WWE, ABEMA!!!”
WWE previously aired on J Sports in Japan.
