WWE has confirmed Shawn Michaels’ new role with the company, following recent management changes.
Shawn Michaels has been a major player backstage for NXT since September 2021, while Triple H was recovering from a serious cardiac event.
In August, it was indicated that the former WWE Champion had been promoted to a VP of talent development creative.
Per a new report from CBS Sports, that title is missing a ‘senior’, noting that Michaels now acts as the Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative.
The official WWE Public Relations Twitter account, has shared this report, now confirming:
“@ShawnMichaels promoted to @WWE Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative”
Shawn Michaels started at the Performance Center as a trainer in 2016, before eventually becoming a writer and producer, under Triple H.
Michaels is expected to oversee NXT moving forward, with plans for the brand to expand internationally, with the launch of NXT Europe in 2023.
At NXT Worlds Collide, NXT UK’s singles, tag and women’s titles were unified with the respective main NXT championships. In the main event of the show, Bron Breakker defeated Tyler Bate to unify the NXT and NXT UK titles.
