Major Heat On WWE Name For Response To Tony Khan AEW Announcement WWE

There is currently major heat on WWE host Peter Rosenberg following his response to Tony Khan’s recent AEW announcement.

On the September 7 edition of Dynamite, Tony Khan confirmed that he had stripped CM Punk of the AEW World Championship, and The Elite of the Trios Title.

This came after a backstage fight allegedly involving Punk, Ace Steel, Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks, which occurred moments after Punk’s verbal tirade during the All Out media scrum.

Tony Khan has been criticised by some for not interrupting Punk’s rant or sticking up for the AEW EVPs during the scrum.

Peter Rosenberg has taken to Twitter to argue that Vince McMahon would’ve handled the situation better, writing:

“Surprised TK chose to not address everything head on …. we KNOW what VKM would have done …”

Judging by the replies and quote tweets, Rosenberg’s tweet has not gone down well with fans at all – it has over 200 quote tweets as of this writing, and the majority of them are very critical of his comment.

Vince McMahon notably announced his retirement in July amidst ‘hush pact’ allegations. He had stepped away from his roles as CEO and Chairman in June, after news that he was being investigated by the WWE board of directors went public.

Rosenberg has been working with WWE since 2016. He regularly appears as a panelist during WWE premium live event Kickoff shows, and was notably a part of the pre-show for Clash At The Castle. Rosenberg is also a former 24/7 Champion, winning the gold in January 2021.

Death Triangle won the Trios Championship on the September 7 show. A tournament is currently taking place to crown a new World Champion, with the finals set for Dynamite: Grand Slam.
