Top WWE Star ‘One Of The Only Talent’ To Call Hall Of Famer After Release WWE

A WWE Hall of Famer has revealed the name of the one superstar to get in touch after their release in January 2022.

Road Dogg Brian James was one of a number of Performance Center staff who was released on January 5 2022 on a list that also included William Regal.

He would reveal, during his Oh…You Didn’t Know podcast (subscription required) that Becky Lynch was the one WWE talent who called him whilst discussing The Man.

James gave his insight into what he saw in Lynch during her time in WWE NXT, saying:

“I always really liked Becky Lynch. I always really thought that her being, was cool. She was beautiful. That accent. She can work. She carried herself cool.

There was just something about Becky that said Superstar to me early on and so I utilized her in that way.”

He would go on to reveal:

“When I got released, she was one of the only people, and of course, I got a lot of calls, but she was one of the only talent-wise that called me and said, ‘What happened?’

“It blew my mind that she gave a crap enough about me to call and say, ‘Hey, I’m sorry.’

“You go and the machine moves forward, and some people get left behind, and on that day, it was me. But yeah, I’ve seen something special in her since day one.”

Road Dogg is currently the Senior Vice President of Live Events, having taken over the role from Jeff Jarrett in August 2022.

He did apologise to Jarrett for “taking his job” on an episode of his podcast.

Jarrett would move to AEW and has been instrumental in Tony Khan’s plans to run live house show events under the AEW House Rules branding.
