WWE championship match moved to Hell in a Cell pre-show

Will another promising WWE match get lost in the shuffle of a pay-per-view card? Maybe so. WWE has announced via their website that the SmackDown Live Tag-Team Championship match between The New Day and Rusev Day has been moved to the Hell in a Cell pre-show.

On this past Tuesday’s edition of SmackDown Live, Rusev and Aiden English defeated The Bar, earning a title shot against the New Day at this Sunday’s Hell in a Cell.  A win for Rusev Day would mean the first taste of tag-team championship gold for the duo of English and ‘The Bulgarian Brute.’

New Day have only held the championships a short time since winning the tag titles from the Bludgeon Brothers a few weeks ago in a stellar TV main event. During their RAW days, New Day set the record for the longest sustained tag-team title reign in WWE history at 483 days. While they are certainly destined for a shorter championship reign this time around, it is unclear exactly how short, and whether or not this is Rusev Day’s time.

WWE Hell in a Cell begins at 7PM Eastern this Sunday, with the kickoff show scheduled to air an hour before at 6PM.
