Change To WWE Star’s Roster Status

Change To WWE Star’s Roster Status WWE

There has been an interesting change made to a WWE star’s main roster status following their recent appearances on NXT TV.

A hallmark of Triple H’s reign as WWE’s creative lead has been a far more fluid relationship between the company’s main roster programming and their NXT brand.

Formerly feeling like an island of itself when Vince McMahon was in charge, now stars from NXT have shown up on Raw and SmackDown and many main roster stars have made the move to Tuesday nights in an attempt to jumpstart their careers.

The latest example of this has been Ridge Holland, who has been appearing consistently on NXT since his split from The Brawling Brutes in November.

However, Holland’s time in NXT may actually differentiate itself from other examples of main roster stars appearing on the brand.

This is in relation to Holland actually competing on NXT’s untelevised live event circuit, something that is rather uncommon for those who have made a similar move in the past.

Holland most recently competed against Joe Coffey on a November 13 live event from Fort Pierce, Florida, with the Englishman also facing off with Trick Williams at another event a week prior on November 5.

As a comparison, Baron Corbin, who has been competing on NXT since June 2022 has only competed twice at NXT live events in over six months.

This was also the case with former WWE stars Mustafa Ali and Dana Brooke, who never once competed at a untelevised NXT branded event in their time on the brand prior to their release.

Holland is set to compete against Coffey on NXT TV this week (January 16) in what will be his first match since ‘injuring’ NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov a month prior.
