WWE Hall Of Famer Justifies Cody Rhodes’ WrestleMania 39 Loss

WWE Hall Of Famer Justifies Cody Rhodes’ WrestleMania 39 Loss WWE

A WWE Hall of Famer has justified the decision to have Cody Rhodes lose to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39 on April 2.

While Kurt Angle may have criticized the result of the match, arguing to a win over Reigns would have elevated Rhodes to being a “megastar”, Bully Ray has a different take.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray used the lens of the WWE Legends: Dusty Rhodes episode of A&E Biography to focus his opinion, saying:

“If after watching last night’s documentary you don’t believe that the WWE got it right, you truly don’t understand what this business is all about.

“It’s no coincidence that this documentary aired one week after WrestleMania.”

He would go on to say:

“Barring Cody getting injured, Roman getting injured … If they stay the course, this is going to be huge for Cody

If people would’ve gotten the way they wanted it, he would’ve come back at WrestleMania and won at WrestleMania also.

“In the world of the WWE, in that one-year span from Mania to Mania, what else would there have been for Cody Rhodes to do?”

Bully Ray would also explain that Reigns retaining the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship and the documentary have led to him wanting to see a Rhodes win even more, although it would depend on whether the American Nightmare was seen as a hot property again after WWE didn’t build on the momentum when it perhaps should have.
