Corey Graves has surprisingly laid claim to the role of Tribal Chief after revealing he has a victory over WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi.
Before joining WWE, Graves was known across the independent wrestling scene as Sterling James Keenan.
He recently shared a screenshot of a show that took place in Buffalo, New York showing victories over future WWE and AEW stars along with the victory over Rikishi.
At Ballpark Brawl VIII on August 23, 2007, Graves beat El Generico (Sami Zayn), Trent Acid, PAC, John McChesney and Xtremo in a 6-Way Futures Match.
Keenan would appear later in the show, facing Samoa Joe and Rikishi for the Natural Heavyweight Championship, winning by count out.
It’s also noted that post-match, all three danced after Samoa Joe beat up Hellcat, SJK’s manager, with Rikishi hitting the Stink Face on Hellcat.
Reflecting on the show on Twitter, Graves said:
“Once upon a time in Buffalo…
“(Also, I might technically have a claim to be the Tribal Chief. 🤔)”
Ballpark Brawl VIII was the last show listed on Cagematch for the promotion, with some pointing out that Graves is still the Natural Heavyweight Champion.
