Former ECW star Sabu has stated that he’s working on returning to the ring, noting that he’s hopeful for a retirement match.
After previous teases, Sabu has now confirmed that he is planning to step back into the ring for ‘one more pay-off’.
Speaking on the Brisco and Bradshaw podcast, the ECW legend stated that he’s hoping to wrestle his final match in the summer.
Sabu said:
“I’m actually hopefully setting up for my final match. I wanna do maybe a final match maybe in July or later. A real final match. Just one more pay-off.”
Sabu last wrestled in July 2021, defeating Mr California at an Xtreme World Wrestling event.
The ex-WWE name notably appeared for AEW in May 2023, serving as the special enforcer for Chris Jericho and Adam Cole’s match at Double or Nothing.
Following his AEW appearance, Sabu shared a pitch for him to have a retirement match against HOOK.
