A former WWE star has been announced for their first wrestling appearance since being released by the company.
Following the expiry of WWE’s standard non-compete clauses, WWE’s September talent releases are now free to carve out their own paths in the new year.
This is something several stars have wasted little time in doing, with Matt Riddle signing with MLW, Mustafa Ali announcing a world tour for 2024 to name a few examples.
One name who has been far less active thus far however has been Elias, who has been completely inactive on Twitter since posting a tweet regarding his release back in September.
However, that all changed yesterday, January 1 as he posted a video announcing his new post-WWE character, that being Elijah; with a return to the independents seemingly teased.
And now we have confirmation of that being the case, as the 36-year-old has now been announced to be appearing at Wrestling REVOLVER’s upcoming Whatashow on February 17.
Wrestling REVOLVER made the announcement via Twitter (see below), on a card that also features talent from AEW and TNA.
Despite being released in September, Elijah’s last match actually came all the way back on the May 15 WWE Raw.
Make sure to stay locked to WrestleTalk for any updates on Elijah and all the other WWE releases next moves in 2024.
