A WWE Hall of Famer’s son has committed to playing football at the University of Colorado.
When Goldberg made his return to WWE in 2016, fans were introduced to the legend’s son, Gage Goldberg.
The younger Goldberg was featured on WWE programming on several occasions, including Bobby Lashley attacking Gage during the bout with his father at SummerSlam 2021.
On January 14, Gage Goldberg took to social media to announce he is taking his talents to the University of Colorado.
The former WCW World Heavyweight Champion’s son is heading to Boulder to continue his academic and football careers.
Gage will be following in his father’s footsteps as Bill Goldberg played for the Atlanta Falcons prior to joining WCW and eventually WWE.
In a recent interview with BuffsBeat, Gage discussed the advice that his father gave him ahead of his arrival in Colorado. He said:
“My dad’s advice was go to the program that stands out to you the most and the one you know that you will love.”
“I already know at this moment that I will love Colorado and it will also be great to be learning from one of my dad’s best friends ever,”
Goldberg has made it no secret about being frustrated with never getting his retirement match in WWE. Now, a WWE star has offered himself to be his retirement opponent, which you can read here.
After a great conversation, I am honored to announce that I am committing to the University of Colorado to continue my football and academic career!!! #committed @CUBuffsFootball @DeionSanders @ChampionHSFB pic.twitter.com/ghnuePgmrf
