A WWE veteran is set to have their first house show matches in almost two decades this coming weekend for two back to back shows in Canada on August 19 and 20.
WWE Hall of Famer and current Raw roster member Trish Stratus has enjoyed a career renaissance in WWE in 2023, returning for her longest sustained run in the company since stepping away from full-time competition in 2006.
Now, Stratus’ comeback is set to see her remarkably return to action on the company’s house show circuit for the first time in 17 years as she has been announced to compete in a pair of show’s in her native Canada.
The first of which is on August 19, in her home state of Ontario at Ottawa’s Canadian Tire Centre, while the second takes place a day later on August 20 in Laval, Quebec at Place Bell.
Despite this being a further testament to Stratus’ longevity, its still unclear what the long-term future holds for the seven-time WWE Women’s Champion.
With fans anticipating the long-running feud between Stratus and Becky Lynch to wrap up in a singles match at SummerSlam, it was instead moved to this past Monday’s Raw (August 14), and ended up finishing in a no-contest, with it later being announced that the two would be competing in a steel cage match some time soon.
There is currently no confirmed date for the cage match. WWE’s next Premium Live Event Payback does land on September 2, which is perhaps a fittingly named event for such a grudge match.
