WWE IC Match Stipulation Announced For Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View

Yesterday evening, Raw General Manager Kurt Angle announced another stipulation for WWE Extreme Rules. The WWE Intercontinental Championship match between current title-holder Dolph Ziggler and former-Champ Seth Rollins will now be a 30-Minute Iron Man match.

Both superstars have marathon man status in the promotion. Ziggler has just about gone the distance in multiple Royal Rumble matches. Rollins, on the other hand, had a recent record-breaking Gauntlet match stint on Raw.

The two are more than capable of producing a high-quality bout, especially when given the time as evidenced in both of their matches on Raw.

Without a WWE Universal Championship match on the card as Raw‘s main event, there is every chance that this will be taking its place. Iron Man matches are relatively rare these days which does provide some sense of superiority to the encounter. That is if the Roman Reigns vs. Bobby Lashley match doesn’t overshadow it.

In response to the stipulation announcement, Rollins replied on Twitter with confidence:

It will be interesting to see what sort of role Ziggler’s partner Drew McIntyre will take during the bout if any. His presence has been influential on the ‘Show-Off’s title-reign thus far, helping him obtain and then retain the championship. It is likely then that we will see the former-NXT Champion present at ringside, aiding his teammate in any way possible.
