Looking back at the Clash of Champions match in 2020 which saw Uso take on Roman Reigns, the former Tyson Kidd shared the conversation he had with Uso.

Revealing that he said that Uso wouldn’t be looked at in the same way again following that match, Wilson said:

“So I texted him that night. I said, ‘Hey man, good luck. Just so you know, you will never be looked at the same ever again.’

“Thankfully, it’s one of those — I’ve been wrong many times — but this was one of those times where I was extremely right, and I’m very happy for it, and very proud of Jey Uso.

“That’s just an example of having a little vision — being like, ‘You know, I’ve wrestled him so many times, I know how good those two are.’

With Jey Uso’s singles run coming due to his brother’s knee injury at WrestleMania 36, Wilson would go on  to explore how this altered their trajectory, stating:

“Jimmy happened to be hurt at the time, so then Jey — not that, like, ‘Oh, he got the spot because he’s hurt,’ but those were just the circumstances.

“I just knew, once The Usos really got a shot, they’re never looking back, and it just happened to be Jey. But then, I mean, Jimmy followed suit too. There’s no looking back for those guys.”

Jimmy Uso would return to WWE in May 2021, going on to become five-time SmackDown Tag Team Champions and capturing their Raw counterpart to become Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions.

2023 would see the relationship between The Usos fracture against the backdrop of The Bloodline, and the brothers would end up feuding throughout 2024.

Recently, The Usos reunited as a tag team, having patched things up, with Chris Sabin of The Motor City Machine Guns calling for a match against the pair.

Having won the men’s Royal Rumble match in January 2025, Jey Uso will take on GUNTHER for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 41 and called the match a ‘once in a lifetime’ opportunity.
