With a wedge driven between The Usos, and Jey Uso “quitting” WWE, an update has emerged on plans for the brothers to face each other.
Jey Uso made his break for freedom in the August 11, 2023 episode of WWE SmackDown, leaving the Bloodline at the same time.
Looking at what’s next for Jimmy and Jey Uso, and whether it involes WWE Payback on September 2 from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dave Meltzer addressed plans in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, writing:
Reigns will not be on that show and we do know that Jimmy vs. Jey Uso is being held off for more build time and likely a bigger show.
Whilst no matches have been announced for that show at the time of writing, the poster only features the members of Judgment Day.
A recent “promoter mistake” saw Rikishi advertised at an event before he “referees at Payback”.
Although Jey Uso’s profile was moved to the alumni section of the WWE website, he is on the poster for WWE Survivor Series.
