A WWE name, who has been with the company for almost six years has been released from his contract over the past week.
According to PWInsider, former NXT UK wrestler and Assistant General Manager Sid Scala is gone from the company.
Despite NXT UK closing its doors in the September 2022, Scala was retained by WWE up until some time this past week when he was let go.
Scala joined WWE NXT UK in December 2018, competing in a handful of matches against the likes of JD McDonagh and Kassius Ohno.
He is perhaps better known however for his role as assistant to NXT UK GM Johnny Saint.
As well as an on-screen figure Scala had also worked as a producer and coach behind the scenes.
Despite not being used by WWE at all since NXT UK shut its doors, Scala continued to compete as a wrestler during most of his time off TV, with his last match coming in May 2023.
This is not the only WWE departure over the past week, with former EVP of Talent Dan Ventrelle, Senior Vice President of Athlete ID & Development Trent Wilfinger and WWE longest tenured employee Sue Aitchison all being let go this week.
