Backstage WWE Draft Details Revealed WWE

A popular star has revealed some surprising backstage details about the 2023 WWE Draft that took place recently.

With some in WWE left “confused” over the free agent status of some of the roster, recent comments from Natalya probably aren’t going to ease the confusion over the brand hopping talent.

Speaking to The Archive of B-Sox, Natalya revealed:

“It’s exciting. I got drafted from SmackDown to Raw, but that doesn’t mean that I still can’t show up on SmackDown.

“That’s kind of the cool part about being in WWE. You’re drafted to a certain brand, but if the storyline calls for it, you can show up on another show. It’s cool.”

She would also go on to reveal the point at which she found out she was being drafted to Raw, adding:

“How I learned about it was Triple H announced it on Raw. We had no idea. We really learn about a lot of stuff in the company as you guys learn about it.

“To be perfectly honest, I like it that way. We get to be part of the fan excitement and things can change so fast.

“In some ways, I’d rather just know about it as it comes rather than hear about it, it gets changed, then you get your hopes up or get excited, and it doesn’t happen.

“It’s nice to be on the journey with fans when they hear that information as well.”

It was recently reported that at least one of the NXT call-ups knew before the WWE Draft.

With all its female champions and a number of other wrestlers leaving the brand, the post-WWE Draft episode of WWE NXT saw a drop in ratings.

It was also recently reported that most backstage were happy with the results of the WWE Draft that took place on April 28 and May 2 2023.

For a complete breakdown of who was drafted to where in the WWE Draft, WrestleTalk has a run down here.
