WWE Announces New Match For Upcoming Special Show WWE

WWE has announced a new match for this coming Tuesday’s June 20 NXT Gold Rush show, which is week one of the two-week special.

Among the matches previously announced for the show was WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins defending against two-time NXT Champion Bron Breakker.

Another match has now been added to the card in the form of women’s tag team action.

The match will pit Meta-Four members Jakara Jackson and Lash Legend against Valentina Feroz and Yulisa Leon.

On last week’s NXT, while Jackson and Legend were trying to cheat to help Oro Mensah beat Nathan Frazer, Feroz and Leon ran out to stop them from doing so.

The NXT tag team division is starting to get a refresh with the return of Feroz and Leon, as well as the formations of teams like Jackson and Legend, Lola Vice and Elektra Lopez, and Blair Davenport and Tatum Paxley.

Despite that, the future of the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship is still pretty uncertain.

Current NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn will take part in a title unification match against WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler on the June 23 episode of SmackDown.

However, after that unification happens, it’s unclear whether the NXT belts will go back to NXT or just dispatched of completely.

Back to NXT Gold Rush, week one now has Rollins vs Breakker, Jackson and Legend vs Feroz and Leon, Dana Brooke vs Cora Jade, Wes Lee defending the North American Championship against Tyler Bate with Mustafa Ali as special guest referee, and a three-way tag team #1 contenders match with Edris Enofe and Malik Blade, Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen, and Hank Walker and Tank Ledger, as well as a “face-to-face” between NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes and Baron Corbin.

Week two, obviously taking place a week later, has Hayes defending the title against Corbin, Tiffany Stratton defending the NXT Women’s Championship against Thea Hail, and Gallus defending the NXT Tag Team Championship against the winner of the week one three-way.
