A WWE star has reportedly made a positive impression on officials within the company due to their recent work on social media.
Chelsea Green has had a rather up-and-down few weeks after winning the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship with Sonya Deville, only for Deville to suffer a torn ACL early in the pair’s reign.
However, Green has managed to turn the negative into a positive, using social media to launch her own campaign to find a new tag partner, holding “auditions” online under the Chelsea’s Got Talent banner.
This earned a lot of attention and responses online, and according to Fightful Select, WWE officials “seemed happy” with the “buzz” that the campaign had garnered over the past weekend.
While Chelsea’s Got Talent was well received, Green’s cries for a new partner were answered, but not by anyone who went through the proper channels to audition.
Instead, Piper Niven returned to TV on Raw (August 14) to forcefully declare herself Green’s new partner and co-Women’s Tag Team Champion.
Niven’s last WWE TV match was on Raw back in April.
Despite the questionable way Niven declared herself the new champion and the fact that Green wasn’t happy about it, WWE has confirmed the duo are now officially recognized as WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.
