WWE Raw in Brief: September 10 2018

This week’s Hell in a Cell go-home show began with Braun Strowman, Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler in the ring, which was surrounded by the other heels on the Raw roster. Strowman, McIntyre and Ziggler were smug about last week’s attack on The Shield. But then Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins came through the crowd and cleaned house on the heels with axehandles, as Strowman, McIntyre and Ziggler retreated.

Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler retained the Raw Tag Team Titles over The B Team when McIntyre pinned Bo Dallas following the Claymore-Zig Zag combo. Afterwards Ambrose and Rollins attacked the champs.

Mick Foley interrupted Elias and cut an awesome promo to announce he will be the special guest referee for Roman Reigns vs Braun Strowman at Hell in a Cell.

Finn Balor pinned Elias when he countered Drift Away into a small package.

Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins threatened to have Baron Corbin arrested for ‘falsifying a police report’ and having The Shield arrested last week. This led to the announcement that Ambrose and Rollins will challenge McIntyre and Ziggler for the Raw Tag Team Titles at Hell in a Cell.

Lio Rush was backstage with Bobby Lashley as he worked out, motivating him with a speech. It looked like Rush might become Lashley’s new manager.

Ronda Rousey and Natalya defeated Alexa Bliss and Mickie James when Rousey made James tap to the armbar. After the match Bliss nailed Rousey with a kick to her injured ribs as the referee was raising the Raw Women’s Champ’s arm in victory.

Bobby Roode and Chad Gable defeated The Ascension when Gable pinned Viktor with the Chaos Theory German Suplex. The story here was an over eager Gable blind tagged himself in twice but Roode didn’t seem to mind because they won.

Nikki Bella pinned Ruby Riott after a Rack Attack 2.0.

Kevin Owens attacked Tyler Breeze before their scheduled match and then cut a promo saying Corbin had begged him to return after he walked out two weeks ago and said he’d agreed to come back as long as he can do whatever he wants on Raw. He also blamed Bobby Lashley for putting Sami Zayn on the shelf and said everything bad that happens from now on will be Lashley’s fault.

Triple H cut an in-ring promo vowing to put The Undertaker down at Super Showdown.

The Authors of Pain (with Drake Maverick) destroyed two jobbers with the Super Collider.

The show ended with Braun Strowman calling out his Hell in a Cell opponent Roman Reigns. They fought on the stage and this ended when Roman delivered a Samoan Drop to Strowman off the announcers’ table through the floor of the stage.
