***CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR TONIGHT’S EPISODE OF WWE RAW***

Good evening all and welcome to WrestleTalk.com’s live spoilers from tonight’s WWE Raw taping at the O2 Arena in London. The taping starts at 7pm UK time. Presumably Main Event will be filmed first. Can we expect to see some NXT UK talent on the card tonight? Who will the four (five? six? ten?) Wildcards be from SmackDown?

  • According to Dave Meltzer the advance for the show is poor, below 10,000, which is actually decent by current WWE standards but not for a UK taping. Crowds have been dropping steadily over here for years. Here’s what it looks like currently:

  • Here’s a better look at the crowd. Apparently a third of the upper deck is taped off on the hard cam side. Hopefully the crowd will still be loud, as UK fans often are.

  • Apparently the matches confirmed for tonight are Ricochet vs. Baron Corbin (oh hell), Drew McIntyre vs. Braun Strowman, Naomi vs. Natalya vs. Dana Brooke vs. Alexa Bliss (typical “lets throw everyone from one side of a PPV match into a free match), Roman Reigns on MizTV and a double contract signing for Becky Lynch’s matches at MITB. It sounds . . . dull. Hope I am wrong.
  • It is indeed Main Event first and a rematch from the house shows this past week as Titus O’Neil takes on poor EC3. I wonder what he did to upset WWE officials. Did he hit on Stephanie or something? Anyway, Titus has been winning the house show matches clean with Clash of the Titus so I expect the same result here…
  • …and indeed that’s what we get. The crowd were into EC3 but it is a quick win for Titus. EC3 needs to just quit and go back to Impact.
  • Speaking of burials: The Revival are wrestling on Main Event against Lucha House Party. Oh WWE, when will you realise that things like this make you the heel and drive fans away?

  • Oh well, at least The Revival won. Hopefully they will be spared any humiliation on Raw later seeing as they have already appeared tonight.
  • In fairness the crowd does not look too bad now. Yeah the upper deck is taped off and it is unusual for Raw in London to not sell out but it’s a sign of the times. WWE’s popularity is at a low point so crowds will inevitably go down. It was worse last year for SmackDown in Manchester, that’s for sure.

  • We start Raw with MizTV, featuring Roman Reigns. The briefcases are hanging above the ring, because that’s what WWE does at this time of year. I wonder if anyone will unnaturally climb the ladders for a promo as they did last year. Man, that was weird.
  • Elias is the second of the SmackDown Wildcards to appear, cutting off Roman Reigns at the start of MizTV. Well, I say that but he appeared last week on Raw and apparently didn’t count as one of the Wildcards so who knows what the rules are? Reigns calls Elias a wedding singer. Ouch.
  • Apparently Reigns was “majorly booed”. Well, they can edit that out at least. Come on people, stop booing Roman. It’s not cool anymore.
  • And now Shane McMahon is here. Is he a SmackDown guy? Does it even matter anymore?
  • Apparently the first match is Roman Reigns & The Miz vs. Elias & Bobby Lashley. If that doesn’t make you fellow Brits want to stay up until 1am and tune in to watch then I don’t know what will (!)
  • Aaaaand its an unsatisfying DQ finish to start with as Shane jumps in to prevent Miz from tagging Roman. Reigns and Miz take out Shane afterwards.
  • Seth Rollins is next.
  • It’s WrestleMania 35 2.0 as WWE once again puts more value in the show looking good on television than those in the building being able to see by shining a bright light in fans’ eyes.

  • Seth Rollins was sort of next – there was a video package hyping his MITB match against AJ Styles. Following that Shane makes a Falls Count Anywhere match between Braun Strowman and Sami Zayn for tonight, with Sami taking Braun’s MITB place if he wins. So much for that McIntyre-Strowman match they advertised. False advertising and WWE, eh? Who would have thought it.
  • Mojo Rawley wrestles on Raw! And he squashes Apollo Crews, who is a SmackDown guy for those keeping track (and believe me, it is hard). The match lasts seconds. Nice to see Mojo back on Raw though, he deserves a shot.
  • First Mojo Rawley and now Nikki Cross gets some TV time. Apparently Alexa Bliss has luggage problems so Nikki is taking her place in tonight’s four-way. There’s another change from the advertised line-up. I am convinced based on how WWE has used her this year that Alexa Bliss still has injury issues.
  • WWE announced that for November’s UK tour, Raw will be in Glasgow and SmackDown will be in Manchester. Makes sense as SmackDown will be on a Friday by then so there is no need to run the same venue.
  • The double contract signing is next. Becky Lynch is as over as you would expect here in London.

  • Becky owns Lacey and Charlotte and the crowd loves it. Charlotte can barely get a word out due to “What” chants. Poor Charlotte always gets flustered by these UK crowds trolling her. It’s a contract signing so it all descends into chaos when Flair and Evans put Becky through the table. Did anyone not see that coming?

  • Ricochet vs. Baron Corbin next. Blimey.
  • You guessed it folks – Baron Corbin picks up the win. Clean, no less, with the End of Days. Because this is WWE and everything HAS to be lame, Corbin unnaturally climbs a ladder afterwards (told ya) and Ricochet pushes him off to get his heat back.
  • Cesaro and Rey Mysterio have a backstage altercation after the Swiss mocks Rey’s son Dominic because he looks like Samoa Joe. He sorta does actually!
  • Anyone hoping for NXT UK Champion WALTER to appear on Raw tonight, well, I have bad news for you – WALTER is wrestling on a WWE house show in Bournemouth against R-Truth this evening. That’s an . . . interesting choice of match to say the least. WALTER has been wrestling Pete Dunne on house shows so does the match change suggest that The Bruiserweight is here for Raw?
  • It’s time for the women’s four-way: Naomi vs. Dana Brooke vs. Natalya vs. Nikki Cross.

  • Well, well well, here’s a surprise: Nikki Cross wins! Does this mean she will end up replacing Bliss in the MITB match? Surely she has to be at least added to the bout now?
  • Rey Mysterio vs. Cesaro was next up, which was expected after their skirmish earlier. Rey scores the win as he continues building momentum heading in his US Title match at MITB.

  • Turns out The Revival are on Raw, in a backstage promo. Said to be “a little comedy” but serious at the end when they call out The Usos for a match and declare “the embarrassment of the Revival stops”. We shall see.
  • The new Firefly Fun House just aired and feedback so far has been incredibly positive. Don’t have the details just yet but it’s said to be easily the best yet and perhaps Bray’s best promo to date. Should be worth tuning in for later.

  • It’s Strowman vs. Zayn for the MITB spot next
  • Sami wins! After a wild brawl that went all over the O2 and involved run-ins from Baron Corbin and Drew McIntyre, Zayn was able to play the odds and defeat Strowman to book his spot in the MITB match. Is Strowman still hurting too or is this just a storyline?
  • That’s your lot folks. There’s also segments, presumably dark, with Strowman chokeslamming Zayn through the announce table and AJ Styles vs. Drew McIntyre.
