With one star making a surprise return from injury on tonight’s WWE Raw (August 7), a beloved tag team has reunited.
With the Viking Raiders set for a match, their opponents remained a secret until there was a surprise return.
The New Day returned as Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston made their entrance on the show.
Kofi Kingston has been out after having sustained an injury and requiring ankle surgery, returning tonight after five months away from in ring action.
In the end, the New Day would win the match with Kingston hitting a Trouble in Paradise into Woods’ Limit Break finisher with the latter picking up the pin.
Elsewhere on WWE Raw, the night kicked off with a promo segment that was set to lead to the night’s main event, a six-man tag match pitting Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn against the Judgment Day’s Finn Balor, Damian Priest and Dominik Mysterio.
However after JD McDonagh assaulted Sami Zayn backstage, the tag champ was not cleared for competition.
Instead, Shinsuke Nakamura approached Seth Rollins to offer his support for the match, subbing in for Zayn.
