New Romance Storyline Teased On WWE Raw

A new romance storyline was teased on tonight’s episode of WWE Raw (August 7) in a backstage segment between two warring factions.

With Chad Gable winning a four-way match between himself, Ricochet, Matt Riddle and Tommaso Ciampa to determine the next number one contender to the Intercontinental Championship, he is next in line for Gunther.

In a backstage segment later, Gunther’s fellow Imperium member Ludwig Kaiser appeared in Chad Gable’s Alpha Academy locker room to talk to the Alpha Academy Queen, Maxxine Dupri.

Ludwig Kaiser let Maxxine know that he’s been keeping an eye on her for several weeks and gave her a compliment with a caveat.

He told her her that she should probably drop the Alpha Academy since she shows promise but she wouldn’t get very far with undesirables such as Otis… when Maxxine laid a slap across Kaiser’s face for his insults.

After Kaiser showed was unfazed, instead seemingly even more intrigued, he turned back around to find Otis instead, challenging him to a match tonight.

It doesn’t seem like the Kaiser/Dupri thing will be something that lasts long as she seemed dead set on staying with Otis, but rather just a vehicle to set up Kaiser vs Otis tonight.

Kaiser won the match, and when Imperium tried to continue to attack Otis post-man, Gable ran back out to make the save.

Of course in terms of real-life relationships, Kaiser is in one with Dupri’s real-life close friend, NXT Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton.

As for Dupri’s real-life boyfriend, Anthony Luke, he actually took part in the WWE tryouts over SummerSlam week.

Elsewhere on WWE Raw, the night kicked off with a promo segment that will lead to the night’s main event, a six-man tag match pitting Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn against the Judgment Day’s Finn Balor, Damian Priest and Dominik Mysterio.
