Real Reason For WWE Changing Raw Stage Set Revealed

The real reason why WWE used a different set for this week’s (January 15) edition of Monday Night Raw has now been revealed.

Monday’s episode aired from the Simmons Bank Arena in North Little Rock, Arkansas.

Details have emerged on restrictions and limitations WWE had to deal with in this arena, which resulted in them using a different set-up for this week’s taping.

Per PWInsider, the Simmons Bank Arena, which opened in 1999, couldn’t support the lighting rigs that the company currently uses due to concern about the weather conditions and the snow on top of the arena.

It was noted that WWE used a liting truss which was supported by towers for this week’s taping, rather than the usual rig which hands from the ceiling.

WWE was also using a smaller stage, and adjusted how much pyro they were using for similar reasons.

PWInsider was also told that these changes were deemed necessary for the show because of the arena, and these weren’t cases of WWE “cutting back”.
