WWE Star Wants Rubber Match Against Major Free Agent

WWE Star Wants Rubber Match Against Major Free Agent WWE

A WWE star has commented on the possibility of wrestling Kazuchika Okada once again, noting that they’re hopeful for a rubber match.

With Kazuchika Okada wrestling his final NJPW match at Saturday’s (February 24) New Beginning in Sapporo event, rumors have been swirling about the Japanese star’s next move.

With Okada previously hinting that he wants to conquer the US, many fans are expecting him to sign with AEW or WWE.

Speaking with WrestleZone’s Bill Pritchard, WWE’s Bronson Reed recalled defeating Okada in the 2022 NJPW G1 Climax tournament, and losing to the Rainmaker months later at NJPW Declaration Of Power.

Hopeful for a deciding match, Reed said:

“I feel like the first time I stepped in the ring with him, I don’t think anyone expected me to beat him. And not only did I beat him, but I beat him in pretty exciting fashion.

“We had that second match, and there was this electricity in the air in Japan, seeing me and Okada wrestle. There’s just something about it that works.

“I always knew there was some point in our careers that we meet again. Whether it was here in WWE or whether it was me going back to New Japan Pro-Wrestling. I know that the landscape of professional wrestling is always changing, evolving, people working together.

“I always thought that was a possibility. Now more than ever, it’s a possibility. I don’t know what’s going to happen, but if the Rainmaker does decide to come to WWE, I want the rubber match for sure.”

Scrapped plans for a major match involving Bronson Reed have been revealed, which you can read more about right here.
