WWE Star Addresses Rumors About Triple H Burying Him WWE

US Champion Austin Theory has addressed the idea that he is getting buried by Chief Content Officer Triple H.

It’s no secret that Theory was presented as a future star during the Vince McMahon era of WWE, with Theory becoming McMahon’s onscreen protege.

It has been argued that Theory has suffered a number of setbacks since Triple H took charge.

These range from unsuccessfully cashing in his Money in the Bank contract on the US Title, to just taking a backseat to other stars despite being champion.

Speaking on the The Babyfaces Podcast, Austin Theory addressed rumors that Triple H is burying him, noting:

“We all know on the internet it’s tomorrow you can be the greatest thing in the world and the next day you could suck.

“You know, I remember a time that the internet said, ‘man, this guy, he’s getting buried. He loses every match.’ When’s the last time I lost a match? And people still have something to say now.

“So, to me, as long as there’s something said, I’m doing what I need to do. But if there’s nothing being said, then there’s a worry there because people say your name for a reason whether it’s good or bad.”

Theory will defend his US Title against Santos Escobar on Friday’s (August 11) edition of SmackDown.

Escobar notably won the US Title Invitational tournament to earn this opportunity, and previously pinned Austin Theory on the July 21 edition of SmackDown, fuelling speculation that there will be a title change on this week’s show.
