WrestleMania 40 saw Seth Rollins lose the WWE World Heavyweight Championship to Drew McIntyre on April 7, 2024.
McIntyre would, in turn, lose the championship to Damian Priest after the Judgment Day member’s successful Money in the Bank cash-in.
It has now been revealed that Rollins will be taking time off following WrestleMania 40.
Dave Meltzer addressed the plans on Wrestling Observer Radio, saying:
“Seth’s taking time off for injury, I don’t know about Becky.
“I heard not that long, but it’s the knee thing, he’s got to rest the knee up for a little while.”

Earlier this year, it was reported that Rollins had suffered a torn MCL and partially torn meniscus on the January 15 episode of WWE Raw in a match against Jinder Mahal.
At the time, it was noted that Rollins could return from a torn meniscus, if he required surgery, in 3-4 weeks if he was able to push it, but a more likely timeframe would be the 4-6 week mark for recovery.
After the January injury, Rollins wouldn’t compete again until the March WWE Road to WrestleMania tour, tagging with Cody Rhodes.
At WrestleMania 40, he competed on both nights, teaming with Rhodes on April 6 and defending the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on April 7.
For the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match, Rollins entered the ring to a Mummers Parade that can be seen below this news story.
WrestleTalk wishes Seth Rollins well on his recovery from injury.
