EXCLUSIVE – AEW’s Claudio Castagnoli Heaps Praise On WWE Star Sheamus WWE/WrestleTalk

AEW’s Claudio Castagnoli has heaped praise upon Sheamus, with the pair having previously formed The Bar in WWE.

The former Cesaro signed with WWE in 2011 and would leave the company in February 2022 before joining AEW.

Following the WWE Draft of 2016, Sheamus and Cesaro would be drafted to Raw where they would initially be rivals before teaming together to go after the Raw Tag Team Championship.

Eventually calling themselves The Bar, the pair would stay united until 2019 where, in the aftermath of WrestleMania 35, Sheamus would suffer a concussion at a SmackDown show with Cesaro revealing that The Bar was over shortly thereafter.

In a recent exclusive interview with WrestleTalk Podcast, Castagnoli revealed his thoughts on his former tag team partner after being asked about who he’d potentially like to see join AEW, saying:

“He’s awesome. Any company that has him has a tremendous asset. He’s just an absolute workhorse.

“One of the hardest workers in and outside of the ring that I know.

“Just an absolute maniac in the best sense of the word. I think it’s always whatever is best for my friends, for them.

“It’s also just fun to see what will happen. But yeah, love Sheamus.”

Since the WWE Draft of 2021, Sheamus has been associated with Ridge Holland, with Butch joining them in March 2022 as The Brawling Brutes.

Recently, Holland abandoned Butch during their match against Pretty Deadly on WWE SmackDown with Sheamus’ return from injury seemingly imminent.

Elsewhere in the interview, Castagnoli discussed some recent big moves between companies, including CM Punk to WWE and Adam Copeland to AEW – click here to read more.

Related to Punk, his last AEW match took place at All In London 2023 at Wembley Stadium, and tickets for All In London 2024, returning to Wembley, officially go on sale on Friday, December 1.
