The Brawling Brutes had quite the showing over WWE Money in the Bank Weekend despite Sheamus not factoring into the match card for the event.
Sheamus has recently addressed his feelings about the “wasted” opportunity in how WWE creative didn’t capitalise on his momentum coming out of last year’s WWE Clash at the Castle during an interview with the Daily Star.
In the same interview, he would also reveal further frustrations over not being on this year’s WWE Money in the Bank card.
Looking at his popularity as a top star on SmackDown and not being on the UK premium live event, Sheamus said:
“I was gutted about Money in the Bank, but obviously delighted Butch was in there and did a hell of a job.
“Ridge the night before against Theory, I’d have liked to have seen him get a bit more time in there.
“I was just bitter I wasn’t (wrestling on the show). They know when they put me on Smackdown every week they’re going to get two or three killer segments, but when it comes to the pay-per-views and you have the part-timers coming into the limelight, that stings a little bit.”
Butch was part of the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match that would be won by Damian Priest and also featured LA Knight, Ricochet, Santos Escobar, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Logan Paul.
On the August 4 episode of WWE SmackDown, Sheamus faces LA Knight.
It was also announced that both men would be in a Battle Royal at SummerSlam on August 5.
