WWE SmackDown live, June 27, 2018 – Live Coverage

BED TIME

What a crazy end to the show!

Smackdown blows Raw out of the water once again in my book. Shorter show is just better.

Thanks all for tuning in, and I will see you next week for more inane babble.

Have a wonderful night!

3am

Paige comes out for one more announcement…Team Hell No! will face the Bludgeon Brothers at Extreme Rules for the SmackDown Live Tag titles!

2.57am

There’s something I wouldn’t have expected. After a damn good match, Rowan interferes…and who should have him but Kane!

Kane returns and Team Hell No! is back together!

2.44am

Yet more evidence that Harper could easily make it as a singles star. He’s a brilliant big man.

2.36am

Yes we are. Next week James Ellsworth is taking on Asuka. The dream matches keep on coming.

Time for our main event, Luke Harper vs Daniel Bryan.

2.31am

Are we getting James Ellsworth vs Asuka?

2.22am

Becky wins with the disarmer. Hopefully this is a sign of an actual Becky push rather than having her just lose to Carmella. Too many talented people are losing to Carmella who is…well…less talented.

2.05am

Weird, Becky was originally supposed to face Peyton Royce…

2.04am

But who cares what I think. Sanity lose in their first match on SmackDown Live. Eugh.

Goodbye chances of a push.

1.58pm

We’ve got a 6-man tag on our hands playas.

Usos and Jeff vs SAniTy. Normally I would want Jeff to lose but they need to lose for the sake of my sanity.

1.50am

This match needs more chin-locks. Young putting in a good performance so far in his SD single debut.

Ooooo look, the Usos have turned up and it’s a DQ. Who’d have seen that coming…oh wait! Me.

1.42am

Eric Young answers the open challenge. I did not expect that…particularly as neither can really lose without being damaged.

1.38am

The cast of Netflix’s GLOW are on the show. At least this segment isn’t contrived or anything.

Lana seems to have finally given up on being Russian.

1.30am

Well, that didn’t happen, but Rusev still picks up the victory. A machka kick and an accolade is all that’s needed to see off Woods.

Jeff Hardy will have a United States Championship open challenge after Shinsuke Nakamura is “not cleared to compete”.

Who else reckons he’s interfering in this match?

1.25am

Rusev trials a Samoan drop. Now all he needs to say is “oooooooo ahhhhhhh”, and he’ll be WWE’s top baby face.

1.16am

It’s announced during the ad break we’ll be getting Daniel Bryan vs Luke Harper later tonight. Very well, I can live with that.

But now it’s time for Woods vs Rusev

1.12am

The first match of the night is going to be Rusev vs Xavier Woods in a match set up on Twitter because, well, everything’s done on Twitter these days. Modern stuff innit.

Should be a cracker though, taking bets for how many ad breaks.

1.08am

Something tells me we’re getting a Miz vs Daniel Bryan match soon.

Harper and Rowan are going to be on Ruff Ruff Ref! Now I want to see it even more.

1.03am

The show opens with the Bludgeon Brothers appearing on Miz TV. Why do I get the feeling someone’s eating a ladder by the end of this segment?
