Rey Mysterio First Challenger For WWE United States Championship Confirmed

To kick off tonight’s WWE SmackDown, an episode of the Grayson Waller Effect turned into a number one contender match.

With Rey Mysterio featuring on Grayson Waller’s chat show alongside fellow LWO member Santos Escobar, it was clear Waller was attempting to sew seeds of dissension.

While the LWO continued to pledge their allegiance to one another, with Escobar fully supporting Mysterio throughout the segment, the former champ Austin Theory arrived and was less than impressed.

He was then interrupted by LA Knight and Adam Pearce then made a match between Theory and Knight, for right now, to determine the next number one contender to Rey Mysterio’s United States Championship.

However with The Miz on commentary, he eventually distracted Knight and Austin Theory was able to get the roll up pin.

While Austin Theory earned another title shot, LA Knight and The Miz are clearly not done with their back and forth feuding.
