A WWE star is reportedly suffering from a legitimate injury after recently mentioning the injury on television.

After winning the Undisputed WWE Championship back at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia, Sami Zayn has continued to be screwed over time and time again by WWE management.

From being forced to defend the title just 9 days later on Raw against CM Punk in Chicago, to having Nick Aldis screw him and Gunther at Saturday Night’s Main Event, to also having Aldis add Kevin Owens and Gunther to his SummerSlam number one contender’s match, to his number one contender’s match with Cody Rhodes not even getting underway last week, WWE has continued to screw Sami out of chances to get his title back.

Sami Zayn’s Broken Wrist Is Legitimate

On last week’s WWE SmackDown, Sami would mention in a segment with CM Punk that he had a broken wrist.

In an update from PWInsider, the broken hand that Sami has been sporting in recent weeks is a legitimate injury and not something that is part of the storyline.

It remains to be seen how long, if at all, Sami will legitimately need to be out of action for.

Will Sami Zayn Get Involved In Kevin Owens vs. CM Punk?

The highly anticipated first time ever encounter between Kevin Owens and CM Punk is set to take place tomorrow night on SmackDown in Toronto, Canada.

With Punk only recently winning the title, it would seemingly be too soon for WWE to flip the title over to Kevin Owens, as much as that may be the right thing to do story wise.

Sami Zayn continues to grow more and more frustrated as he is overlooked for opportunities on SmackDown, with him likely set to get involved in tomorrow night’s match and cost Owens, whether intentionally or not.

Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens are destined to do this forever, so another match between the two men is not unwelcome, especially since their last clash in Toronto at Elimination Chamber was one of WWE’s best matches of 2025.

However, if the match between Kevin Owens and CM Punk ends up being one and done, it would be a shame to see it come to an end thanks to outside forces rather than just between the two men.
