Former WWE commentator Jonathan Coachman has ruled out the possibility of a return and addressed the treatment he received.
Coachman joined WWE in 1999 as a backstage interviewer going on to become a commentator, authority figure and even occasional wrestler.
He would part ways with the company in June 2008, choosing not to renew his contract.
Coachman would appear in WWE once again in March 2016 before re-signing in January 2018 and joining the Raw commentary team.
His tenure with the team would end in September 2018, with Coachman becoming a PLE pre-show host before leaving the company all together.
Five years on from his last run in WWE, Coachman addressed his future in wrestling on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, saying:
“I think back now, I’m kind of in that reflective point of my life. Because I know, for a fact, that my wrestling career is over.
“There is nothing that can make me go back and do that so now you get into a reflective state.”
With Van Vliet pointing out that “never return” isn’t set in stone for anyone in wrestling, Coachman replied:
“Yeah, but that’s usually people whose lives are wrestling, you know what I mean? That’s what they inspire to be.
“That’s not who I aspire to be. I got lucky. And then there are things that have happened over the past five years that make me not want to go back.
“I was 100% loyal to that company and to Vince so when things happen, sometimes you’ve got to draw the line in the sand and say ‘I can’t be treated that way and still go back and be loyal to the company.'”
Coachman would also point out that WWE are not lacking without him among their ranks, concluding:
“It’s not like they need me anyway. They’re not crying over spilt milk. But I like to think I treat people a certain way and I wanted to be treated that way. So yeah, I would never go back.
“So I reflect now, and when I think about the cool things that people have done for me when I was in the WWE, whether it’s fans, wrestlers, whatever, that might still be the coolest thing.”
Coachman has previously said that Corey Graves didn’t want to work with him upon his return to the company.
He was signed to WES as part of the commentary team alongside Matthew Rehwoldt (Aiden English), although that promotion would never run a show.
