WWE Star Confirms He Will Be In WWE 2K23 Despite Not Being Listed On Final Roster WWE/2K Games

The fully confirmed launch roster for the upcoming WWE 2K23 video game was officially announced today.

While many people were happy with some of the returning legends such as Lita, Bruno Sammartino and the Bella Twins, as well as debuting stars like Carmelo Hayes and Bron Breakker, a few omissions left fans scratching their heads.

Mainly, a number of WWE stars who returned to the company in recent months as part of the new Triple H regime missed out on the roster, with Braun Strowman, Dakota Kai, Karrion Kross & Scarlett and Dexter Lumis being the only rehires listed on the roster.

One of the most notable omissions was Johnny Gargano, who featured in WWE 2k22.

Gargano’s omission was extra surprising than the others given that he featured in the game’s launch trailer, and featuring a star in the trailer that doesn’t feature in the base game seemed rather odd.

However, fear not Johnny Wrestling fans, as he took to Twitter shortly after the roster list was released to confirm that he will in fact feature in the game’s base roster.

He tweeted:

There were some rumblings this morning.. so I talked to my friends over at @WWEgames, and I’m happy to announce myself that JOHNNY WRESTLING will be PLAYABLE AT LAUNCH in #WWE2K33!

He obviously meant 2k23, not 2k33, though remember this tweet in a decade if he is announced for that game.

It is not yet known if any more recent returns who were not listed on the roster made the game.
