Another WWE Name Change Revealed? WWE

There has been a potential sign that a name change could be coming for a pair of WWE stars following the most recent episode of SmackDown (January 5).

After making their return to main roster TV during Santos Escobar’s United States Championship tournament semi final match with Bobby Lashley on December 22, Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo may be set for a change that will be all too familiar to them.

As when making their entrance alongside Escobar for his match with Kevin Owens on the most recent SmackDown, Carrillo and Garza were referred to as simply Humberto & Angel in the lower third nameplate graphic.

While this may be just be a space issue in the graphic and a way to fit their names in alongside Escobar, it is interesting as it was a change made to the former Los Lotharios in their last spell on main roster TV.

The cutting of first or last names of stars was something fans came to expect under Vince McMahon’s creative leadership; however, under Triple H this trend has fortunately died out, with many being given their lost names back such as Austin Theory and Tommaso Ciampa.

For what it’s worth both Garza and Carrillo are still listed with their first and last name on the WWE.com roster page, so perhaps there’s either a delay in updating it or the change is not a permanent one.
