An update has emerged on a top international star potentially signing with WWE after recent reports of interest and even an offer being made.
Reports emerged recently that Giulia from Japanese promotion STARDOM had received an offer from WWE, though remains under contract with Bushiroad until March 2024.
Dave Meltzer has provided a further update on plans for Giulia in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, writing:
Regarding Giulia, the update is that she has not made her mind up and that she and WWE have spoken several times of late.
They’ve talked enough that there is something to the story, although the story she was going to the Performance Center at this time ended up not being accurate.
But she has not told those in Japan that she’s staying nor that she’s leaving.
Having debuted in NJPW in 2020, Giulia is the current NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion.
She also holds the Artist of STARDOM Championship (with Mai Sakurai and Thekla).
Giulia isn’t only NJPW star that WWE have their sights on, with the company reportedly having a ‘renewed’ interest in Kazuchika Okada.
Despite interest from WWE, Will Ospreay recently signed with AEW and will move to the company when his NJPW contract expires in early 2024.
We’ll keep you posted with any further updates.
