Shane Haste signed with WWE in March 2016 and would go on to be renamed Shane Thorne, performing under that name during his time on NXT.
His main roster call-up would see the Thorne name eventually abandoned, being replaced by a new character of Slapjack.
A member of Retribution, Slapjack would remain until 2021, returning to his earlier name until his release in November of that year.
Retribution were a short lived faction, with Dijak (T-Bar) reflection on their ‘catastrophic‘ debut shortly before his own WWE departure in June 2024.
Since his release, Haste has returned to the independent wrestling scene and has competed in NJPW over the last few years.
His most recent New Japan match saw TMDK (Haste & Bad Dude Tito) victorious over Fred Rosser & Matt Vandagriff at NJPW Battle in the Valley back in January of this year.
Haste is a former two-time NJPW Strong Openweight Tag Team Champion with Mikey Nicholls, also previously holding the IWGP Tag Team Championship with his tag team partner.
