A pair of WWE rivals recently attended a shared public appearance in promotion of next year’s WrestleMania 40 from Philadelphia, PA, with neither seemingly pleased to be with the other.
SmackDown’s Grayson Waller and Raw’s Johnny Gargano took the trip to Philly in order to celebrate and promote tickets for the historic event going on sale this coming Friday, August 18.
Gargano and Waller were both greeted by the players and cheerleaders for NFL team the Philadelphia Eagles, who play at the host stadium of WrestleMania 40, the Lincoln Financial Field.
Both Gargano and Waller uploaded pictures of the trip, however, you’d be forgiven for not noticing as both men decided to mostly crop each other out from their respective posts in hilarious fashion.
While Waller posed for a picture with the Eagles’ center Jason Kelce, who had a custom Eagles WWE Championship on his shoulder, Gargano, a known Cleveland Browns fan, seemed more bemused at why he was posing with the Green jersey.
You can see both photos below.
Gargano tweeted:
Went to Philadelphia real quick to check out the #Browns/#Eagles practice and promote Wrestlemania tickets going on sale this Friday!
I think they gave me the wrong color jersey?..
HELP @Browns
Waller and Gargano have a storied history with one another in NXT, with Waller being the one to take Johnny Wrestling off TV when his WWE contract expired in late 2021.
Then, when Gargano made his WWE return a year later he eventually ended up back in NXT to confront Waller, with the pair facing off at NXT Stand & Deliver in April this year with Gargano winning that match.
Unfortunately Gargano has been off WWE TV since May.
Despite not being on TV, his old partner and rival Tommaso Ciampa has been teasing a potential DIY reunion on the main roster, click here to see Ciampa’s latest tease.
