A new report has revealed a potential spoiler for a planned WWE WrestleMania 40 match featuring Rey Mysterio.
On the March 22 edition of WWE SmackDown, Santos Escobar defeated Rey Mysterio after a distraction from Rey’s son Dominik Mysterio of The Judgment Day.
This led many fans to believe “Dirty Dom” would once again go one-on-one with his father at this year’s WrestleMania.
However, it looks like the Mysterio family will be sharing the Mania stage with other performers in 2024.
Ahead of the March 29 episode of SmackDown, WrestleVotes reported that Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee will challenge Dominik Mysterio and Santos Escobar to a tag team match at WrestleMania 40 on tonight’s show. The tweet reads:
Tonight’s SmackDown will be somewhat pedestrian, with some mainly uneventful, yet necessary moments.

Besides the Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee challenge, the post also states that The Bloodline will reveal that Roman Reigns was behind The Rock’s bloody attack on Cody Rhodes on Raw.
On the March 25 episode of WWE Raw, The Rock attacked Rhodes from behind where he busted “The American Nightmare” open while talking trash in a memorable angle.
The Rock will team with Roman Reigns to face Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins on WrestleMania 40 Saturday on April 6. Meanwhile, Reigns will defend the Undisputed WWE Universal Title against Rhodes on WrestleMania 40 Sunday on April 7.
