WWE’s Ultimate Goal Following Raw Netflix Deal Revealed WWE

A new report has revealed WWE’s ultimate goal following Raw Netflix deal.

On January 23, WWE announced that Monday Night Raw will be moving to Netflix in a new media rights deal starting in January 2025.

The agreement is initially for 10 years and is worth in excess of $5 billion for the company throughout the duration of the deal.

This follows WWE announcing SmackDown will be moving to the USA Network in October 2024, while NXT will go to The CW Network at the same time. Meanwhile, WWE PLEs stream exclusive on the Peacock app.

According to Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer, WWE’s ultimate goal is to move everything to Netflix eventually. He said:

“The ultimate goal is very clear.”

“When the SmackDown and the NXT deal and the Peacock deal are up, in theory because Netflix is already going to have the international rights to all these shows already, except in the markets where they’re locked into a television deal of moving those over and being the home. It’s the long-term play in theory.”

In a Wrestling Observer Preview, Meltzer went on to add that he expects Netflix to become WWE’s exclusive home in the U.S. eventually. He wrote:

“Given the nature of the already existing international deal, one would come to the conclusion that at the end of these deals Netflix would have a good shot at becoming the U.S. home for all of the programming, and this would also open the door for Netflix to do additional WWE projects such as documentaries.”

“The first WWE/Netflix collaboration, a multiple part series on the life of Vince McMahon, is expected to be released somewhat soon.”

A new report has revealed what the WWE Raw Netflix deal means for AEW, which you can read at this link.
