Matt & Nick Jackson of the Young Bucks have fired shots at NJPW, following the announcement of Forbidden Door..
On Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite, AEW President Tony Khan and NJPW President Takami Ohbari confirmed that the rumored crossover show will take place on June 26.
AEW and NJPW first announced a partnership in early 2021. AEW EVPs Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson notably left the Japanese promotion in early 2019 to help launch AEW.
Poking fun at NJPW, the Young Bucks updated their Twitter bio to read:
“Hey remember when we tried to get them on board day 1, but they waited til the dinner table was completely set first & also didn’t give us a proper send off? ?”
The seven-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions and one-time IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions last wrestled for NJPW at Wrestle Kingdom 13 in January 2019, before their profiles were removed from the NJPW website that February.
The Young Bucks last wrestled on the April 6 edition of Dynamite, unsuccessfully challenging for FTR’s ROH Tag Team Title and AAA Tag Team Championship.
