WWE star Natalya has told the story of John Cena’s recent visit to The Dungeon training facility run by Natalya and TJ Wilson.

A couple of weeks ago, Natalya and others shared on social media that Cena had been to visit The Dungeon for one of their training sessions, thanking him for his time.

On a recent episode of Busted Open, she told the full story of how Cena’s visit came about. She explained:

“John sends me a text, and he’s like, ‘Hey Nattie, what time are you guys training this week?’ I said, ‘John, if you wanna get some reps or get in the ring, if you want privacy, I’ll just give you a key and you can come to The Dungeon on your own or whatever you need, we can help you, we can set up a private time.’

“He was like, ‘No no no no no – I wanna come and I wanna talk to all of your students, I wanna share all the information I can share, I just wanna give back, I wanna be there, pay it forward sort of thing. I just wanna be there.’

“So he shows up at The Dungeon 15 minutes early, which I was like, ‘Okay, this is awesome.’ He’s not a diva. He introduces himself to everyone, shakes everyone’s hand, he’s super polite.

“He gave a masterclass in every single thing that he could give. He gave us hours and hours of his time, and he was like, ‘I just wanna help everyone succeed. I want you guys to make it. I wanna share what helped me make it. The good, the bad, the mistakes, the triumphs.’ It was wild.

“Afterwards, John sent TJ and I a text and said, ‘If there’s anything I could have done to improve, if there’s any feedback you guys can give me to be better, if you have anything just tell me. I just wanna be the best I can be.’

“This is a guy that is the greatest professional wrestler of our generation. He is asking us what he can do better.

“Everybody was just wrestling with their entire heart and soul. It was so cool because John lit us all up. He changed our perspectives and made everything better. He made our lives better.”

Among the names training at The Dungeon when Cena visited were United States Champion Ilja Dragunov, Leigh Laurel, Oro Mensah, Women’s Intercontinental Champion Maxxine Dupri, B-Fab, Tatanka’s sons Joseph & Jeremiah Chavis, Brodie Lee Jr, Ashante ‘Thee’ Adonis, Apollo Crews, Angelo Dawkins and more.

Cena has also been to visit the WWE Performance Center a few times recently to work with all the NXT talents training there.

He recently announced that his retirement show will feature NXT talents in action against main roster stars – something he suggested himself rather than WWE’s original plan of a full two-hour tribute show dedicated just to him.

Cena will also choose the 10 participants in the upcoming NXT Iron Survivor Challenge matches at WWE Deadline.
