It has just been announced by WWE via their Twitter page that WWE United States Champion, Randy Orton will defend his title against both Bobby Roode and Jinder Mahal in a Triple Threat match at WrestleMania 34.

Randy Orton challenged Bobby Roode for the title at Fastlane, after Jinder had stirred the pot between the two about SmackDown‘s underwhelming ‘Top Ten List’.
The win for Orton allowed him to become the latest addition to WWE‘s list of ‘Grand Slam Champions’, having won every possible championship in his career.
Roode has presumably been put in this WrestleMania match as his contractual rematch, whereas Jinder has been added purely because of his involvement in the storyline.
We all know the history between Jinder and Orton. In 2017 Jinder defeated Orton at Backlash for the WWE Championship, then defended it on two straight pay-per-view events, giving him a 3-0 record against ‘the Viper’ on the big stage.
Their trifecta of classics (not really) also saw a Punjabi Prison match at Battleground, which saw the return of The Great Khali.
Unfortunately, the addition of Roode to the Orton plus Mahal equation doesn’t make it any more exciting for many fans, and many (myself included) will be surprised if this doesn’t get bumped onto the WrestleMania 34 Kickoff Show.
