Forty-eight hours removed from Saudi Arabia’s attempts at soft diplomacy via the medium of sports entertainment, WWE has announced more of the participants who will be competing in the Greatest Royal Rumble’s preposterous 50-man titular match.
The names revealed thus far are:
Daniel Bryan, Braun Strowman, Kurt Angle, Shane McMahon, Chris Jericho, Mark Henry, Rey Mysterio, Elias, Kevin Owens, The Great Khali, Bobby Roode, Baron Corbin, Big E, Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, Apollo Crews, Shelton Benjamin, Sin Cara, Chad Gable, Goldust, Titus O’Neil, Mojo Rawley, Dolph Ziggler
For those counting, that’s 23 entrants, leaving a whopping 27 to go. It’s safe to assume that the majority of the male roster will be involved, probably several one-offs from NXT, and no doubt a few surprises as well. Cue the inevitable “HULK HOGAN SET TO RETURN AT GREATEST ROYAL RUMBLE” rumors over the next two days.
The rest of the card is also confirmed. On paper the show feels like a Madison Square Garden house show special, with several marquee matches with little build, and plenty of stipulations shoehorned in for the sheer hell of it:
WWE Universal Title Steel Cage Match
Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns

AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
WWE Intercontinental Title Ladder Match

WWE United States Title Match

WWE Raw Tag Team Title Match

WWE Smackdown Tag Team Title Match
The Bludgeon Brothers vs. The Usos
