There was a major title change at last night’s NXT taping from Full Sail University in Florida.
In the final match of the shoot, The Undisputed Era pairing of Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly downed Moustache Mountain pair Tyler Bate and Trent Seven to recapture the NXT Tag Team Titles.
Moustache Mountain only captured the titles two days prior on the NXT UK special from the Royal Albert Hall, winning the gold to an electric response from the London faithful.
The immediate switch back to The Undisputed Era makes it clear that Mountain’s win was done simply as a way to create a buzz about the NXT UK brand and to give those in attendance a major feel-good moment. That’s perfectly fine, though it seems a shame that MM were not allowed to run with the titles in NXT for a little while before losing them.
Do you think Moustache Mountain dropped the NXT Tag Titles too soon? Let us know in the comments below or on Twitter here. You can also join us on Discord to chat with Oli, Luke, the magazine team, the website writers and each other here!
