Looks like the realest G in wrestling is no more.
Enzo Amore (who goes by rapper Real1 now) did a brief interview with TMZ and when asked about a return to the wrestling ring, he made it clear that he would never return to professional wrestling, no matter how much money is offered to him.
The former WWE cruiserweight champion is enjoying his life as rapper Real1. Though he didn’t give a date, reportedly the title of his album is called Rosemary’s baby. Sadly, it has no relation to the 1968 classic horror movie. Enzo claims that he’ll be apart of future television projects, though he never details what the actual projects are. Don’t be surprised if he’s the new star of Hip Hop & whatever city they’re in on his season.
Before the fame and professional wrestling, the man formerly known as Enzo Amore had no prior experience when he entered the WWE back in 2012, and it showed when he was forced to wrestle without Big Cass by his side. However, Amore had the gift of gab that only the likes of The Rock could match.
Him & Big Cass made their main roster debuts the night after WrestleMania 32 and though he and the seven foot tall giant never won the tag team titles, he ended up winning the cruiserweight title twice as a singles star.
Amore was released from the WWE on January 23, the day after sexual assault claims were made public against the then cruiserweight champion. The reasoning cited was that Amore never told the WWE about the investigation, in which he claimed he knew nothing about it (and documents later proved that he was telling the truth).
The sexual assault case was eventually dismissed due to a lack of evidence and Amore has enjoyed some success as a rapper thus far. Though Amore will never be remembered for his wrestling ability, the former cruiserweight champion will always be marked as one of the best promos in the business.
