Thank God. Sasha Banks has returned to reunite the Boss and Hug Connection, just in time to fight off the fearsome threat of the Riott Squad.
Banks made her return on Raw after an injury lay-off as back up for Natalya, who was to face Ruby Riott in a singles match.
Ruby had Sarah Logan and Liv Morgan, so naturally Natalya needed someone to hug on her way down to the ring.
If all the women on the roster could just stop hugging each other, the whole thing would be so much better to watch. When was the last time you saw Braun Strowman spooning Dolph Ziggler?
After the Riott Squad attacked Natalya when she had Ruby locked in the Sharpshooter, Bayley and Sasha stormed into the ring to make the save, hitting Liv with a Back-Stabber into a Bayley to Belly.
To be honest, if she’s just come back to reunite this team so we can see more matches between them and the Riott Squad, then I could’ve waited a while longer to see her back.
As Ronda Rousey vs. Nikki Bella is the only thing anyone cares about in the women’s roster, there’s little point in bringing her back. Ronda will likely be champion for about 14 years, the rest of the roster seems destined to wallow in the under-card for eternity.
